Pet-Tich-Eye Release Show
10 songs by 10 different “groups of 3″ musicians. Each group will do their “song” on the LP plus at least one other song!
Some of the musicians featured: Stu McLamb, Brad Cook, Phil Cook, Ivan Rosebud, Ari Picker, Cheeti Kumar, Heather McEntire, John YU, Joe Hall, Matt McCaughan, Phil Moore, Kane Smego, Jenks Miller and lots more!
The 10-song album features members of Bon Iver, The Rosebuds, The Love Language, Bowerbirds, Mount Moriah, Megafaun, Lost in the Trees, Hammer No More the Fingers, Horseback, Birds of Avalon, Gross Ghost, Bombadil, Toddlers, Hiss Golden Messenger, The Shouting Matches, The Old Ceremony, Airstrip, Organos, The Tender Fruit, Cassis Orange, Prypyat, DJ JYU, Blanko Basnet, Le Weekend, and Sacrificial Poets.
The goal of this project was to create something unlike any record previously released in the Triangle by introducing a creative dynamic in which the musicians had never worked together or, at least, never written music together. The musicians were given several months to work on and demo a song. The groups were given one day in the studio to record the final versions of their Pet-Tich-Eye songs. Each group chose a photographer to document the studio experience, a visual artist to create album art for the song and a community beneficiary.
One dollar from every sale is directly donated to one of the 10 community beneficiaries. “Sales” include vinyl packages, digital album downloads, digital single downloads, teeshirts, posters, stickers and any other item that might be sold in support of this project.
Sustainable design: It is our goal that PetTichEye.com will function as a destination for musicians to partner with community organizations to create and release original music in a way that benefits both the artists as well as the organizations.
We believe that this can be a constant, creative collaboration in our community.
