Formed by Troy Brian Hancock in early 2011, spawned from earlier solo projects and bands started in Raleigh NC. After taking about a year and a half off from doing music Troy decided to resurface with a fresh new sound that was always clinging with, now with support from friends and a handful of local musicians he is more than ready to show what he has to offer
Facebook

Bellows

Bellows is the musical project of songwriter Oliver Kalb, started during the winter of 2010, after a blizzard hit the Hudson Valley and left the area deeply covered in snow. Bellows was a return to small thoughts, an attempt to exorcise feelings of loss and detachment into a living space, allowing the songs to breathe their own air and evolve naturally. The sound of Bellows is sensory and delicate, subtle and quiet but erupting with frantic wobbling drums, large orchestral sections and bursts of noise that defy the limitations of pop and folk. Though the origins of Bellows are bleak, the music is meant to be an encouraging listening experience, an embrace of something dark in the hopes of bringing new light into life.

Sarah Shook & the Devil

Sarah Shook is known for scorching country originals, belting out Hank Williams numbers with ease and drinking Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey by the half gallon. Jon Baughman has become a force to be reckoned with when he slaps that 1964 Kay bass and clicks them strings til you just can't take the heat. Eric Peterson's guitar and Phil Sullivan's lap steel harmonies are so tight they ain't got an inch of daylight betwixt 'em.

Son, if you like smokin’ vocals, savory lap steel, badass bass and come-on-back-y’all geetar you'll be so damn pleased you'd sell your soul just to hear a hair more.

Mary Johnson Rockers

Mary Johnson Rockers is her name, not a band. But with the Spark behind her, she delivers “great, roving Americana with pipes to spare,” ranging from soft twang with impeccable harmonies to driving rock rhythms full of late-night swagger. Their 2011 release Hummingbird Heart gained them traction, dubbed “a triumph,” full of “catchy, well-written and eclectic” songs (Chris Parker, Independent Weekly) together with a score of solid performances throughout their local NC Piedmont. Mary is joined by longtime friend and vocalist Miriam Chicurel-Bayard, contributing songwriter Jim Kremidas on vocals, guitar, pedal steel, and dobro, bassist FJ Ventre (Swang Brothers, Jon Shain, The Stars Explode, Tom Maxwell) and percussionist Robert Cantrell (Hobex, Tim Smith Band, Greg Humphreys, Samba Jovem).

Juniper Rising

Based in Brooklyn, Diana Potakh and Holly Overton, formerly of American Sun, felt the urgency to create music experimenting with their obsession with early country music like Loretta Lynn and Waylon Jennings. At a sunny Summer beach gathering, they asked bass playing friend Andrew McNey, formerly of The K-Holes, to join in. Kevin Faulkner, of The Men, maximizes the experience with eerie and beautiful lap steel licks. They love to tour because of the wonderful people they meet along the way.

Come help Rick celebrate the long slow march towards death!

John Howie & the Rosewood Bluff

When North Carolina's honky-tonk heroes the Two Dollar Pistols broke up in 2008- leaving behind a legacy that included five full-length CD's, an EP of duets with Grammy nominee Tift Merritt, and several US and European tours- lead singer/songwriter John Howie Jr. already had the seeds planted for a new group, one that would continue the Pistols tradition of making soulful honky-tonk based music for contemporary times. Bringing drummer Matt Brown over from the Pistols, John recruited pedal steel guitar ace Nathan Golub, christened the new band John Howie Jr and the Rosewood Bluff, and set about writing a new batch of songs.

Mat Quiring & the Lesson

Country music is supposed to empathize with people that have lost their houses, wives, trucks, or dogs. They never said anything about losing your old punk rock albums. Mat Quiring (Of Whiskey and Blood, Allied Threat) and Adym Roy (Kennebec, Red Engine), are straddling the line between honky tonk and "Fuck you" and so far, its working well. Acoustic guitar, pedal steel, accompanied by Lindsey and Ben Halliday (Scarlet Virginia) on accordion and bass, singer/songwriter Troy Smith of Red Engine on electric guitar and lite percussion, Mississippi native Jason Elliott on drums and percussion, and whatever else they feel like throwing on stage that night, these Raleigh musicians are keepin' it old school, to new school, to no school. For fans of Ben Nichols, Murder By Death, Johnny Cash.

B-Side Project

B Side Project is a rock trio from Durham, NC. With Lightnin' Rick on bass, Chris Conley on drums, and Stefan Rogers on guitar, B Side Project blends garage rock with a little old school punk and a some rockabilly to produce hard driving, high energy sound. --- Garagabilly!
