The Chit Nasty Band
These guys love gettin' funky and keeping the nasty grooves goin'... If you want to dance, Chit Nasty and the Band are in a position to help! Keep it nasty!
Chit is known for his rock and roll, gospel piano playing, soulful vocal delivery, and over all being a funkster. As the former front man of Boston’s rock/soul/funk/reggae band “The Nasties”, Chit has made music with some of the most talented musicians from his alma mater, Berklee College of Music. Showmanship and stage presence have become well noted aspects of Chit’s live performances.
"Chit Nasty takes over with a Rick James-meets-Little Richard vibe, yielding a brand of funky rock that's louder than mixed plaids."
"Hailing from a galaxy beyond the edge of time, Chit and his band of interstellar space cats have entered our dimension to spread the good news that all life is music and music is sex. With tongue in cheek and a tongue in your ear, their nasty laaser soulstorm of gospel chops will make you move in ways you never expected."
Bringing together a beautiful fusion of Soul, Jazz, Blues, Funk, and Rock, piano virtuoso Chit Nasty and his band are sure to leave their audience bedazzled... With an impressive display of showmanship, and a creative musical edge that makes each and every show unique, the band is sure to pack the house each and every time, making it so that not one head is still, and every set of feet in the house are moving and grooving. Sarah Kaboom (Sarah Ashley Bjorklund) is an artist that believes in letting the natural happen. As early as preschool, most of her time was spent inside of her father's music school named Ashley Arts, after her. It was at this establishment that she remembers piecing together her first melodies and composing her first lyrics, and being upset when she could not remember them the next day. After attending Durham School of the Arts in Durham, NC throughout middle and high school she came into the world with a broad understanding of the performing arts and the capability to shine. As a senior in high school she wrote, composed, and recorded her first original song "New, Fresh, Clean" and released it January 1, 2009. As of today Ms. Kaboom is continuing to create crisp, soulful music that takes you by surprise. With unique timing, a classy tone and distinct lyrics that add a certain edge, she is sure to grab your heart and never let go. BOOM!
What is the sound? Completely unique, but if we had to stretch something we'd say throw Lady Gaga, Lykke Li, Erykah Badu, and Twista in the blender. What do you get? Something flammable, tantalizing, and full of dynamic flavor. KABOOM.
