With a name hailing from a tanning salon, Tan Universe is an independent band based out of Asheville, North Carolina. The group draws inspiration from a wide variety of subgenres of rock, most commonly surf, psychedelic, garage, and shoegaze.
From humble beginnings of playing shows in small apartments, Tan Universe has always been a band with a DIY attitude. The group has been hosting house shows out of the basement of their Asheville home since summer of 2021.
Tan Universe is composed of singer/songwriter/guitarist Dan O’Grady, joined by friends Caelan Burris (Bass), and Lawson Alderson (Drums). They have recently started releasing singles from their upcoming first album, coming early 2023, including “Sandcastle” and “Lil Cowgirl” both out now!
