On Sunday Oct 23, from 11 am-3 pm, Durham Beyond Policing is hosting a craft fair at Motorco to raise money for the Carolina Abortion Fund, an amazing organization that provides abortion access and support in the Carolinas. We believe abolition and abortion access are part of the same battle, as no one can be safe and free from dangerous police interactions when the practice of bodily autonomy is criminalized.
The overturn of Roe v. Wade is only the latest blow to abortion access. For decades, organizers have been fighting for bodily autonomy and to provide funds for people who need abortions. We hope to continue their legacy by supporting CAF and fighting for a future where all people with uteruses are guaranteed safe, equitable, and affordable reproductive care.
