CHRIS HOLLOWAY

Chris Holloway (Collapsis, Queen Sarah Saturday) teams up with Mike Ivanitch (Gravity’s Pull, The Mad Starlings) and Ryan Pickett (Collapsis, Queen Sarah Saturday) to perform haunting versions of Holloway’s songs from a career that has spanned decades.

Originally from Durham, Chris lived in Chapel Hill throughout the 90’s writing, playing bass, singing, and often cooking with band mates Johnny Irion, Ryan Pickett and Zeke Hutchins. The band, Queen Sarah Saturday released an EP, the full length album “Weave” and several singles with Thirsty Ear Records, and toured extensively with bands like The Charlatans UK, the Connells and Dillon Fence.
Chris eventually moved to Boston, where he continued to write songs as he sought to further indulge his culinary curiosity.
But he was quickly pulled back into van life by former band mate Ryan Pickett.
Joining singer/songwriter Mike Garrigan and former Dillon Fence drummer Scott Carle to form the post-grunge group Collapsis. The band released the “Chartreuse” EP, the full length “Dirty Wake”, (Cherry Universal), and toured into the early 2000’s.
In 2017, Chris teamed up yet again with Pickett to record the songs that he had managed to keep in his head for years.
Swarming In the Glow (Hollowaytunes.com) and subsequent singles were recorded over the next few years with help from locals John Teer, Greg Readling, John Howie Jr., Casey Toll, Allyn Love, Dale Baker, and many others.
Chris now lives in Durham, writing, playing music and tending the fire at his local old school BBQ joint.
